DOH Issues FAQs for "Life-Sustaining" Businesses

It has been one week since enforcement of the April 15, 2020 order of the Pennsylvania Department of Health (“DOH”), which placed extensive operating requirements on “life-sustaining” businesses, has gone into effect.  Since that time, “life-sustaining” businesses in Pennsylvania have had many questions about the procedures mandated by the DOH.  In response, DOH has posted a lengthy Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”) that addresses various aspects of the April 15th order, including: cleaning and disinfecting procedures, the use of face masks, social distancing in the workplace, and implementing pre-shift temperature checks.

“Life-sustaining” businesses must be aware of the significant obligations placed upon them by the DOH’s order.  The FAQs help clarify these obligations and, therefore, are worth reading in order to ensure compliance.  For questions about these procedures or any other labor and employment matter, please do not hesitate to contact the attorneys at Hoffman & Hlavac.  And to stay updated on the key labor and employment law developments that affect your workplace, subscribe to our blog and follow us on social media.
