Easterly to speak on workplace investigations

Ed Easterly, founder and Partner of Hoffman Hlavac & Easterly, will participate in a seminar entitled Handling Workplace Investigations & Employment Practices Liability Insurance.  This seminar, being hosted JetPay HR & Payroll Services, will be held on May 15th from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at JetPay’s offices located at 7450 Tilghman Street, Suite 170, Allentown, PA.  Registration is free of charge.  To register and for more information, click here.

In today's climate, employers must be fully aware of how to handle employee complaints, which can range from allegations of harassment and discrimination to bullying or general workplace issues. Conducting a lawful investigation is imperative to determine how to respond to complaints and avoid potential liability down the road. During the seminar, attendees will be provided with information on the investigation process, best practices for handling complaints, and how to effectively interview a witness and gather information. Attendees will also be provided with pointers on how to effectively handle the conclusion of the investigation, from dealing with the complainant to implementing disciplinary action.

Easterly focuses his practice on labor and employment law and civil and commercial litigation representing clients on a wide range of matters related to Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Act, and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.  He assists clients, including universities, private businesses, municipalities, utilities, manufacturers, and non-profit organizations, with their labor and employment matters. Easterly graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2003.  Edward subsequently graduated from Villanova Law School, cum laude, in 2006.
